  7. ``Using UNIX and XENIX'' is a 4-tape introduction to the UNIX and XENIX
  8. operating systems. The course consists of four audiocassettes with spoken
  9. instruction, an indexed Quick Reference guide, and an optional data diskette.
  10. It is designed for new users of UNIX or XENIX and requires no previous data
  11. processing experience. The audio tapes provide hands-on, self-paced training at
  12. the user's own computer, using his or her own UNIX or XENIX software. The first
  13. tape provides a general introduction to the system, including logging in and
  14. out, basic UNIX/XENIX commands, and an introduction to the mail utility. Tape 2
  15. covers the vi editor. Tape 3 covers file management and directories, and
  16. introduces the user to some of the database utilities. The fourth tape covers
  17. more advanced features of the system, including text formatting, redirection
  18. and piping. The UNIX versions covered include: SCO XENIX, UNIX System V, and
  19. UNIX BSD (Berkeley). The hands-on training can be done on a PC, a minicomputer,
  20. or a mainframe.
